Service & Fellowship
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries, and to support global missions.
Ascension has four circles that meet monthly. In hopes of accommodating a variety of schedules, each meet on a different day and at a different time. All women are invited to attend.

Ascension Lutheran Laymen’s League
We refer to our local chapter as the “Men’s Club” but we are chartered as LLL. We have held a continuous charter since the very early days of Ascension. Our two main focuses are supporting Lutheran Hour Ministries and Camp Linn Haven. Our meetings are on the third Saturday of every month followed by campus improvement projects. Meeting attendance is all that’s required for

Oakhurst STEAM Academy
Oakhurst STEAM Academy is a Title I school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district, located in its namesake neighborhood. In 2015, Oakhurst began operating as a school after a hiatus of several years, and as such, has not benefitted from an active PTSO. A substantial refugee population in the surrounding neighborhood provides the school with children, but also language and cultural barriers.
Ascension has partnered with Oakhurst to provide it with care packages for teachers, an outdoor landscaping project, and other activities to ensure that this deserving school is provided with the tools it needs to successfully educate its students and serve its teachers.
